This Just In: Tea Leaves Are Great for House Plants!
In an effort to be more conscious of my usage and waste production, I have sought different ways I can reuse every day expendables. Of course, recycling and composting has become a primary part of my everyday practice, but there was one thing that was bothering me: What to do with my used tea leaves? I felt as if there was something more that could be done, when all the delicious and nutritious leaf juices have been extracted from the leaves. So I took to the internet, as one does in today’s day in age and looked for some ways that I could make the most out of my tea leaves!

Gardening for Everyone
Apartment living can get expensive, especially when you've got a big grocery bill and you barely eat the amount of food you buy! Some people solve this by grocery splitting with neighbors (I.E. your neighbors buy the potatoes and you take half while you buy the lettuce and they take half) or donating extra food to local firefighters or shelters. While those are great ways to cut that bill, there's an easier way to save money on food, know where your food comes from, and start an interesting new hobby!

Creating a Cake
This past Sunday (December 16) was the 15th birthday of one of my daughters. She still likes to have themed parties, and this year she chose to have a fantasy theme. Now, I prefer to make their cakes myself as it adds a little extra love to their special day. So this year, going along with the fantasy theme, I decided to make her a castle cake... or attempt to anyway. But I didn't want it to be just a single flavor cake. I wanted to mix it up. To say my husband has banned me from watching anymore baking shows is an understatement LOL... anyway, here is how her cake was made...

Buffalo Chicken Taquitos
Buffalo chicken dip!! My youth group leader was the first person to ever introduce this dip to me. She always brought it to game nights or to youth group, and always had it made up when we had special movie and game nights at her house. I love hot things. That is something I definitely get from my dad, and if you read my story "Perfect Dough Every Time," you know that I love chicken. I also have a thing for that cheesy goodness, so this dip is literally everything I've ever loved, all mixed together.

Food Tips and Hacks Everyone Deserves to Know
For a fundamental task everyone should be able to handle by the time they reach adulthood, the word "cooking" strikes fear into a LOT of people. I personally have the opposite reaction with that word. I LOVE cooking. Like seriously. It's the career I 100 percent want to pursue for the rest of my life. But this isn't about me. This is about YOU. When I ask people if they can cook, some popular answers are; "I can make a mean bowl of cereal," "I can boil water, that's about it," and "Box mac and cheese is my specialty." If you are someone who has any response similar to the examples above, this post is for you. And even if you do dabble in a bit of cooking now and again, here are some tips to take simple foods to the next level, or just improvise in a pinch. Because let's face it, we're not all Gordon Ramsay. The best of us can't afford to stock our kitchens with the finest gadgets and ingredients out there. But that's ok. Because throughout years of taking the struggle bus express to create amazing dishes on a budget, I've picked up individual tips and hacks that you'll have access to right here.
