Introduction I do find it amusing and odd when certain things inspire me to write but I suppose that is just the way my mind works. This morning I went out to pick up my weekly deliverance of two pints of milk from McQueen's Dairies and that started me off for this story.

In the Gospels, the Temple leadership had become a world of its own. It had ranks, special garments, sacred spaces only certain people could enter, and a sense of distance between the “holy” and the ordinary. Jesus walked into that world and challenged it, not because the Temple itself was evil, but because the system had become more important than the God it was supposed to reveal.

The official teaching says Mary is a saint, the greatest of saints, and that believers ask her to intercede. But the lived reality often looks different. People speak to her as if she has her own power to act, to heal, to intervene. And when you combine that with the emotional devotion, the icons placed in the center, the candles, the bowing, the kissing, it’s easy to see why it feels like she has been elevated to a place the New Testament never gives her.

Well, ‘’worshipping the objects or the ritual itself instead ’’= they do that actually. You can tel me what you want. But they do make- ‘likenesses- and bent to that ‘likenesses’’- the icons. And kiss them as something sacred. And the Bible book itself. And the hand of the priest.

The Eastern Catholic Churches (like the Greek Catholics, Maronites, Melkites) also kept these prayers, because their liturgy is very close to the Orthodox one.

I still do not see the difference between the two! Think of it like this: In the Catholic West, over the centuries, people started to treat the seven holy actions (baptism, communion, confession, etc.) almost like things that needed clear rules. For example: what exact words must be said, what counts as valid, who is allowed to do it, what happens if something goes wrong. It became a bit like a legal system: very organized, very defined, very precise.

On Darwin: we actually agree on the key point. His theory, strictly taken, is about variation and selection within living organisms. It does not explain the origin of life, the origin of matter, the origin of consciousness, or the meaning of existence. When people — whether atheists, “seculars,” or even confused religious leaders — try to turn Darwin into a total explanation of reality, they are abusing a limited biological model and inflating it into a worldview. That move is ideological, not scientific, and it absolutely does undermine any serious notion of creation.
