Book Writing Advice
I've done it. I've completed my first round of edits for my debut novel, Bottle Trees and Broken Dreams. This round of edits consisted of checking for spelling and grammar, omitting issues I found in the full read, and adding things that would help build the world and clear things up. I took this draft from 55,000 words to 60,000 words, which is something I'm very happy about.

College Degrees. Top Story - August 2023.
The most expensive piece of paper one may ever own. Signed off and sealed, making the empty promises that higher education brings extra official. Garnered after many nights of justified tears and many words written on topics one can't even remember. C's get degrees, but good jobs are never promised.

A cornerstone of my childhood. Despite the plot holes and controversies, this story is something that stays with me. When summer turns to autumn, I cross my fingers that an owl will swoop down with my Hogwarts acceptance letter. The letter never comes, so I settle with rewatching the movies.

Follow Percy and his friends as they come of age while saving the world from Kronos. These Greek mythological stories made me feel seen and made my childhood magical. Thank you, Rick.

The Ugly Duckling
I'd always felt like an outsider in my own home, despite my mother's best efforts to make me feel whole. When I was born, I was very large and ugly. My face was bruised by the doctor's hands as he struggled to pull me from my mother's womb. My siblings, on the other hand, were slender and delicate on their days of birth. Born "naturally" as opposed to my surgical removal. However, my mother never loved me any less for the pain I put her through.

No, Mom. I will not write Colleen Hoover-esque books, no matter how much money they make. I don't think glorifying pseudo-incest and domestic violence is ever a good thing. There must be better books for people to read. Lily Bloom, the florist... Really?
