Electric air dances on my skin, hands touch my shoulders, seconds pass like hours, and I know I'm ready.

The sound of leather slamming into leather, resonates inside my muscles, waking the warrior within.

My heart pounds with each step, my vision focuses on the sight of the ring, the place where my dreams will die or breathe.

Stepping through the ropes, the taste of sweat reminds me, of the work it took to get here.

Standing, touching gloves, the smell of the arena fills my lungs, and I believe…

This feels like all kinds of GO GET 'EM!

This poem guides us to our indefatigability, using careful wording to secure its influence. Nicely done.

"And I believe..." really cements the whole piece. Love the determination running through this.

Ah, you had me fooled that this would be about a car... but I also love this entry for the sensational challenge too!!

This is excellent. Feels right I'm right there in the first row. Well done.

Hi-i ~ Sugar Ray...I remember him the guy with the 'Glass Jaw'...Haw! btw; Will, I can think of so many examples of Ray's schtick. Such as you never know marriage until you've experienced it - Just thought I'd toss that White-Flag into the Ring..! j-bud in.l.a.

Boxing...scary...enjoy. My eyes will be closed.

Oh wow, Will. First things first, have you ever boxed before? (It felt like maybe you had?) Or is this just a outofleftfield idea? Second things second, this is just brilliant. Like, from the unique interpretation of the brief, to the execution. I felt everything and remember watching boxing matches as a kid or even wrestling and imagining all that tension, atmosphere and build up. Very well done doesn't seem high enough praise for this, to be fair.

Very evocative. I could feel the atmosphere of the fight coming.

  • That was extremely powerful! Loved your poem!
