Sublime Rhyme
Love or Hate or in between…
What’s wrong with a song or poem with rhyme?
I find my mind pondering, wandering, wondering much of the time.
Unbelievably, inconceivably… to some, rhyme is worse than slime or grime!
Merely countenancing the thought, makes me quake… my heart rate climb.
*
Rhyme sets poems rollicking, frolicking along
Rather like a catchy tune to a popular song
Rhyme holds my scattered, shattered attention
Elevates my mind to another dimension.
*
Surprisingly, I’ve acquired a taste for Free Verse
Appreciate it… no longer view it as a curse!
Do my unrhyming poems make your lips purse?
Those attempts, amongst rhyming poems, I intersperse.
*
Do we have to choose between red or green?
Colour blindness to rhyme or not… negates the need to preen or be mean!
How crazy to deem rhyme lazy and taboo!
Enough ado… I’m like a screeching Cockatoo.
*
Sure, maybe, Possibly, Rhyme can be overdone, like steak in the sun
But who can deny, decry us from having a crumb, ton of fun?
It’s sublime, like a tangy lime or a bell’s clarion chime
Is employing enjoying rhapsodic Rhyme really such a crime?
*
My apologies for this soliloquy chaotic car-wreck of an excuse for a rhyming poem. One would think that Rhyme brightens, lightens my life!
