Kintsugi
You glue me together
I am a work of art
I'm a vase
Shattered and rejoined with gold
I am a broken dish
Fragile
Dainty
Porcelain
I'm small fragments put together for daily use
I'm shards lost among the dust
Scattered but brought back
Molten gold, painted on
Binds me together
The tracks of my trauma are visible
Illuminated
Glinting
Declaring
I have fallen
I've been broken
I was maybe whole before
There were holes before
If I'm porcelain
You're the gold
Restoring me in a way
Only you could
I'm whole again
I carry on
I contain all my contents
I can hold things in my heart
I hold you in my heart
I can be beautiful and lovely
I don't have to be ugly
Honest can be pretty
Magnificent
Meaningful
So I share my broken places
I don't hide the damage done
The damage remains
So do I
The damage done is that
Done
But I am
I am a work of art
