Gabriel Akamọ
I cornered Gabriel Akamọ at a party. This sounds far more predatory than it was, but I will admit I was impatient to get this interview with him. After several rainchecks and a growing desire to have Gabriel in our first months featured creatives I was very aware that I needed to grab him the next available moment (metaphorically, of course, Spoiler in no way condones the physical grabbing of creatives - unless they wish to be grabbed, however that is a very different conversation...) anyway, this moment presented itself at a party. So whilst the homemade hummus was being devoured by a gaggle of dieting actors and the waves of german electro-pop radiating from speakers nearby were making me realise how painfully uncool I am, I stole Gabriel off to a quiet corner to find out a little more about what he is up to.

Kirstyn Brook
This article was written by Emma Spiers, in 2019. Where the hell do I start with Kirstyn, my friend, my business partner, my go to person for the last minute ‘let’s leave the country tomorrow and just wing it’ plan. On top of this, Kirstyn is the co-founder and real brains behind Spoiler. Having sat on the name and concept for an online magazine related to the arts, for the better part of 5 years; Kirstyn has got myself involved in the project, and as I write this, weeks away from the launch - Spoiler is finally happening.

Roly Botha
Roly Botha is a wonderful human. Anyone who has met or worked with them will tell you the same. Roly is an actor, composer and theatermaker. We met for this interview in a cafe in Victoria train station, and whilst listening to the audio I realised- not just that I shouldn’t interview and eat at the same time- but also that I am immensely lucky I am to have met Roly at this moment in time.

Vittoria Rizzardi Peñalosa
I first met Vittoria Rizzardi Peñalosa while she was studying her Law degree in London: she and I were attending classes at the same actors workshop, though in different classes. And while we circled around each other for nearly a year, ironically we never truly talked about work until she had left the country. During her time in London, I remember her as an actress, and a stunning one at that, with a powerful presence and a fluidity of movement that seems to evade all but the most secure individuals. It’s this power and fluidity that has carried forward into her work as a Producer, Director and Writer.
