For better or for worse, relationships reveal the core of the human condition.
Behind the Iron Bars: Huddling for Warmth
My name is Lao Zhou. I spent eight long years in a prison in Northern China. It wasn’t for some heinous crime—just a moment of youthful impulse. I’ve paid my debt to society, every last cent of it. Since my release, people always corner me with the same question: "Lao Zhou, those years inside... how did you handle that? You know, your needs?"

Why Hair Turns Us On: The Silent Trigger of Attraction Between the Sexes
Attraction doesn’t always make itself known. Sometimes, it sneaks in silently, through details that you don’t consciously notice, but feel nonetheless. A glance that lasts a moment too long. A sensation that lingers on your skin after contact fades. Often, it starts with hair.

Life Is Not the Problem. What Happens in It Is
Life is often described as complex, unpredictable, sometimes unfair. Yet, if we take a step back and observe it with a bit of distance, a paradoxical idea begins to emerge: life itself is simple. It is the things in life that are not.

getting catcalled on is more confusing and annoying than it is scary.. Content Warning.
So One time I was on a run, and I think I was trying to find the usual place where my team worked out but I got lost...cuz u know I have like no sense of direction...eventually I gave up trying to find the place and so I just started walking right? So I was thinking about going into target right? And thats when a car in the in and out drive thru line, they open their window and say "Hi kiddie" and I was like "Hi?" and in my mind I was like who the fuck says "Hi kiddie Hi kiddo" thats like confessing your a pedophile. And when I said Hi, they just laughed and closed their window, like no explanation or anything. So then after five minutes of thinking about it, it hit me. Ohh he was saying "ki-Tty" not "kiddie" like as in "hi pussy" ohhhhhhhhh. And I was like damn it why'd I say hi back I should've just stayed silent. But the thing is here was that it wasn't even scary or anything because I didn't even know I was being catcalled on I thought they were just saying hi to say hi to a kid running.

Thirty, Five Men, and the Art of Not Settling
My name is Chen Xiaohe, and I just turned thirty. You might not believe it, but in the six years between twenty-four and thirty, I lived with five different men. These weren’t messy flings; they were "proper" relationships—dating, moving in, breaking up—repeated five times over.

I Wanted to End My Life after Being Publicly Shamed. Content Warning.
“Sometimes we tolerate unacceptable behaviour from others because we don’t know we deserve better.” — Kia Stephens ^ Sitting in the front passenger seat of a packed crew van, on route to a ‘quick turnaround’ aircraft clean, the forty-something male colleague, sitting next to me — out of nowhere and loud enough for the other male crew members sitting behind us to hear — unashamedly ridiculed me, in detail, about my genitalia.
