Always On Film Podcast
Ever wonder why there are so many movie podcasts? So have I. The answer, I believe, is based on the unique role movies play in any nation’s culture. Films act as a social adhesive, prompting conversations on the world around us. What movies have you seen lately is, in many ways, a more potent social lubricant than a glass of Pinot Noir or Jameson on the rocks.

Theater of the Wound: A Philosophical Review of THE DRESDEN DOLLS (2003/2004)
The Dresden Dolls' self-titled debut album, released in 2003 (with a 2004 reissue), erupts like a vaudeville grenade in the staid landscape of early-aughts indie rock. Amanda Palmer, the band's pianist, vocalist, and sole songwriter, teams with drummer Brian Viglione to craft a sound that's equal parts Weimar-era cabaret, punk fury, and confessional poetry. Stripped to piano and drums, the album feels intimate yet explosive--Palmer's lyrics a torrent of wit, vulnerability, and venom that dissects trauma, desire, and societal absurdities. It's not just music; it's therapy session as spectacle, where self-destruction dances with defiance.

Book Review: "Queen Victoria" by Lucy Worsley (Pt. 5)
We have covered up to the death of Prince Albert, but now the heir apparent is in poor health with the start of this new section. He's a married man now but Lucy Worsley makes it clear that the sight of his relatives was so horrible to him that they would sit behind a screen when they came to visit. She had not only not finished grieving for her husband, but the grief was getting considerably worse as Victoria began to "waste away". She was not nearly the woman she once was and was very clearly in a deep sense of mourning. Everything seemed unfinished, and now her son was ill as well and pretty much at death's door. Let's put it this way: this chapter begins ten years after Albert has died. That's right, she's been like this for ten years - slowly wasting away and not really living at all. She was truly lost.

Ready or Not Two
I had only seen the first Ready or Not movie about a month ago and I loved it. It was a fun movie and I love badass girl cinema so when my roommate told me there was gonna be a second one with Buffy the Vampire Slayer I was immediately on board. Especially coming on the heels of the Buffy reboot cancellation I needed some Sarah Michelle Gellar and oh boy did she deliver.
