Adrian Anchondo discusses his relationship with Colton Little and his longtime friendship with Van Hansis

Adrian Anchondo has exited his role as Marco Rios on General Hospital. He has expressed in interviews that he is sorry his time in Port Charles has ended, but understands it's not personal. 

Fans initially were saying they wanted Marco to die, but during the last weeks, his love for Lucas Jones (Van Hansis) and his willingness to goagainst his father Jenz Sidwell (Cazrlor Rota) to assist Britt Westbourne (Kelly Thiebaud) won over some viewers.

Anchondo recently revealed that he has enjoyed a 20-year friendship with Hansis and loved their onscreen dynamic. He said he cried during the scenes where Lucas said his gooddbyes to Marco in the hospital. Some GH viewers were hoping Marco and Lucas could get away from Wydemere before anything serious happened, but the writers had other plans.

For fans who were not aware, Anchondo is dating Colton Little, the actor who plays Andrew Donovan on Days of Our Lives. The duo met when Adrian sought advice from Little in 2025 after being hired to portray Marco. Little, who has been joining the action in Salem since 2022, gave a fitting tribute to Anchondo on Instagram.

"Having a front row seat to Adrian's journey on General Hospital taught me so much," "I watched him take the high road over and over, I witnessed his work ethic and sacrifices, and I got to see how much love he shared with the cast and crew. Marco may be gone (for now) but I'm grateful I get to watch Adrian continue to shine outside of Port Charles. Onwards and upwards, baby boy."

Talented actors

TOn Days of Our Lives, Little's character works for the International Security Alliance, where his father, Shane Donovan (Charles Shaughnessy), is the ISA director. His mother is Kimberly Brady Donovan (Patsy Pease). Andrerw is a recurring character who pops into Salem now and then. He was recently in scenes in Alamania to investigate the alleged death of Vivan Alamain (Louise Sorel).

Little's acting credits include the TV series Marshall and NCIS Origins. He also appeared in the television movies A Biltmore Christmas and A Wedding for Christmas. Anchondo is known for Law & Order: Organized Crime, How to Get Away With Murder, and FBI: Most Wanted.

Hansis guest-starred in the TV series Psych in 2011, in the episode "This Episode Sucks" as Adrian Viccellio. He was in the Nikita episode "Clawback" as Yuri Levrov, and in 2012 appeared in The Mentalist episode "Red Is the New Black" as Derek. Hanis portrayed Jess Gibson in the 2013 horror film Devil May Call. He has been in a relationship with actor and chorepgrapher Tyler Hayes since 2007.

What comes Next?

Hansis has shared that he was heartbroken when Anchondo gave him the news of his departure and said that at one point he had thought Lucas would be the one to die after moving into Wyndamere. Many General Hospital viewers were hoping that if anyone died it would be Ross Collum (Andrew Hawkes) who survied after being shot by Rocco Falconeri (Finn Carr).

The question now is whether Lucas will alert Sidwell that it was Cullum who killed his son or allow him to believe it was Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard). Sidwell has murdered innocent victims but he was heartbroken overe Marco being stabbed seven times.
