Before they departed for the funeral it rained, heavy drops lashing the rocky drive along the edges of the parked cars even as the sun shone eerily in the distance. As quickly as it began it stopped a few minutes later, the water that cascaded a few moments earlier down Young Street rising in curling waves of steam.

The evacuation.
The evacuation. And return. The evacuation chapter 1. I’m an armchair historian, not trained or educated in history. I mean, I learnt history in school, and I read, but Now it’s only for fun. So going through my fathers storage locker on day I found my great, great grandfathers notes and letters was a revelation. I never knew anything what he lived through, or what happened at that time, and how it affected the family. Well, so anyway, no boring reference points, no side notes, just me telling it like I read it. It’s amazing.

Kristin loves AI. Ever since AI became a thing, she has been on the phone or using it on her laptop, uploading photos and stories to her social media. It’s like it was made for her. It’s brilliant and perfect in her eyes. She can escape the daily grind of high school and other trivial matters thanks to AI. She spends her days creating things like an image of a goat eating at a diner with a monkey as a waiter. She proudly shows it to all her friends. Her friends seem to love the wild ideas she comes up with. They even insert their own ideas at times. Anytime there’s a new assignment due, she is thrilled because it’s an excuse to improve her AI technique.

He tried to steady his breathing, as he made his way down the white hallway. Bradley should not have stepped inside, but something told him to walk down those stairs. The white stairs that he had found out of nowhere, that were waiting for him in the woods, in the dark.
