Thin Line. Honorable Mention in Parallel Lives Challenge.
TBL Fingers with dirty nails shook as they struggled to tie bloody boot laces. Officer Perty was unsure of how his boots had come untied in the interaction. Blue and red light flashed around him, and he felt dizzy, sick, inhuman. ‘What have I done?’, he asked himself as he stood and looked at the body, the very small body of the man—boy that he’d just shot. Blood pooled around the body slowly, shining in the moonlight, reflections of the red and blue lights danced on the liquid. There was a buzzing in Perty’s ears, a low hum of blood pulsing through his own veins. His head was spinning with a deep pain, and his whole body vibrated with anxiety. Someone slapped his shoulder.

Door Slam
“Tap, tap, tap.” “And so gently she came rapping,” I muttered to myself. This was the third time this week and I sighed. It was Sunday so at least I was prepared with coffee and cookies in the oven. And by ‘prepared’ I meant only technically, mentally I could never be prepared for this shit. I had come to dread the sound of those taps on my door. My cozy little apartment, my place of solitude and peace, so suddenly turning to a prison of torment by just two feet shuffling their way across the threshold of my door. It wasn’t the big things, there weren’t big things she did that I could point to and say ‘this is why’. No it was more insidious than that, it was a bunch of little things piling up, death by a thousand cuts.

Competition
Heckling a comedian is never a good idea... You ever see room of professional comedians and they are all just laughing and having the best time because they are all funny and they enjoy each other's comedy? I love seeing that, I love the shared love of their craft and seeing them just have fun together, it's really amazing to watch.
