When the Anaphylaxis Struck

Eat modern packaged foods with caution

I was visiting beautiful Glacier National Park.

it should have been the trip of a lifetime.

in many ways, it was, but not fully.

A health crisis struck, made me miserable.

Let me share and raise awareness.

A serious food allergy episode,

almost anaphylaxis hit me,

early one morning in a motel canteen.

I ate a bagel and a tub of blueberry yogurt.

It was filling, but within a few minutes,

I felt my lips swelling,

I started wheezing.

It made my tongue swell,

and my windpipe felt tight.

I was miserable,

with no medication in a remote place.

It was my luck that I survived.

It took several days to come back to normal.

Later, I realized it was probably

some preservative in that yogurt

that my body responded to.

People, modern food is full of dangerous chemicals,

and some can make us very sick.

Eat cautiously, eat moderately,

because anaphylaxis can be fatal.

I am glad you are okay. This is terrifying. My youngest daughter has a severe peanut allergy which we discovered when she was barely two because my older daughter loved peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and decided to share. One of the scariest days of my life!

I'm sure that was frightening, to say the least. It's a great reminder for us to carry diphenhydramine with us, just in case... 😊 Congratulations on your Top Story ! 🤩😍🌼
