🔥The Last Glow 🔥
🔥Reflections on Endings and New Beginnings🔥

In the hush of night, where embers disappear
like fading stars, I sit and watch the fire,
its dance slow, and intimate,
the last gasp of warmth curling upwards,
each gleam a breath of everything once alive.
🔥
The crackle speaks in low tones,
tales of days spent in laughter,
of shadows that danced
the grill of memories sizzling against the sky,
like a heart beating against the burden of night.
🔥
What remains now is a tapestry of ash,
a delicate lacework of existence,
fragile, refusing to be forgotten,
as I trace the outline of what was
the light, the heat, the inferno that consumed.
🔥
But endings are not merely extinguished flames.
They breathe new life into the cool air,
carving paths for the dawn to unfold,
a promise wrapped in smoke,
a future held in a sigh.
🔥
I cradle the warmth of the last glow,
a soft farewell wrapped in the evening’s embrace,
and let the memories move around my fingers,
for in every ending, there lies a beginning,
a spark waiting to ignite anew.
🔥
So as I watch the fire’s farewell,
I gather the remnants of a day gone by
not lost, but transformed,
into the promise of stars above
and the silent whisper of what comes next.

This is lovely
Love this. I’m having an unburning on the solstice this year, so this hits home. I wrote this sestina about it and plan to photograph/video much of it and put something together in the Photography community with my documentation. https://everydaydealxhub.live/poets/sacrificial-fire%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/a%3E%3C/p%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3C/div%3E%3Cdiv class="css-w4qknv-Replies">
