The Forgotten Color
A meditation on the one shade they share with the heavens
The year now pours its steps along,
toward darker times, a deeper song.
The sky shows hues both vast and rare,
the shade we love is always there.

The wind grows strong with restless might,
the fruit-trees shake, clouds chase in flight.
They race across the arching dome,
where color tears—hold tight your home.
.
The ocean lashes at the shore,
its shade is dim, not bright as yore.
No urge to leap in waters cold,
Autumn, of you one can’t be bold.
.
My thoughts drift back to quiet days,
when sea and sky shared mirrored plays.
Reflections bore the same old dyes,
the sun’s craft carved eternal skies.

My heart is bound to this one shade,
I wait in vain, no chance is made.
Alone, forgotten, warmth concealed,
yet deep inside, my charm revealed.
.
The seasons turn, the year must go,
and with it shifts the hair’s own glow.
The sky now bears a somber hue,
it strikes my gloom with tolling true.
