Frozen Life

By Moon DesertPublished 5 years ago Updated about a year ago 1 min read
Colne River at low tide

My life froze to death

With everything new around

Swallowed by a shallow swamp

Waiting for tomorrow that never comes

Forgotten in so many obscure ways

Promised to live in a considerate way

And so as not to forget

That the illusion won’t last forever

Therefore, it must be supported

With the right theatre props

From the depths of my heart

In a distinctive shape, colour, and texture

In a therapeutic way

Coming out of the shadow

Into the bright light of the day

Even if going to sleep with the seagulls' crying

Foretelling a flood on the doomsday

Wailing like whales

Insanely

And me and my neighbours imitate the sounds of birds

Waiting all day to arise from death

Watch out!

I’m coming for y’all!
