We humans are resilient
Our coping skills are brilliant
In times of stress and danger
We make friends with a stranger
We can endure so much pain
Bear the weight and stretch and strain
When we fall it’s not the end
We can learn, adapt, amend
Take a breath, wipe off the dirt
Optimism doesn’t hurt
Through the tears we can still laugh
Heal and get back on our path
We might fight or scream or cuss
But there’s strength in all of us
To rise up, to reinvent
We’ll survive this president
We’ll oust him and all his mates
As the whole world celebrates

Yessss, let's get rid of the orange tyrant, lol. Loved your poem!
And I will stand with you all the way, despite the disagreements in my own country.
We will definitely survive this president. Thank God he ran when he is old can you imagine if he was a President when he was younger? 🤦🏾♀️😰
I would rejoice when this poem manifests itself. Great challenge entry, Leslie!
