Canola Fields

Maybe there is no place like home

By Polite AdjacentPublished 4 months ago Updated 12 days ago 1 min read

She needs to fly far away

With a lens and fresh start in September

New backyards where she can play

Quick press to focus and click, remember

⌞ + ⌝

She wants big stories to tell

Beyond the Pacific. The Atlantic.

She bids Alberta farewell

In search of something new and romantic

⌞ + ⌝

But the photos on her phone

Mountains and vast prairies. A far-off loon.

Ocean landscapes not unknown

Fields of flowers already in full bloom

⌞ + ⌝

Experiences gathered

Where she flourished among the vibrant hues

Her views already mattered

With canola fields against layered blues

⌞ + ⌝

Travel is good for the soul

Perhaps she took her province for granted

Sights overseas met her goal

Within Canada is where she landed

Gratitude
