Every evening.

20:00 Sharp.

He would give her

A hug.

(He had put an alarm clock

On the phone

For the punctuality).

Afterwards,

She’ll give him a kiss.

A little kiss.

On his cheekbone,

Hovering over

His beauty mark,

Caressing softly,

Lingering momentarily

Then pulling away.

He wanted a kiss on

His lips.

That the softness will melt

Away every heartache,

Every despair.

They stopped all interaction

for a year.

It was when he told her,

”…And let’s not talk

about the kiss!

Seducing,

Enticing,

Always making me want more.

But I want a kiss on the lips.

On the lips God damn it,

On the lips!”

”Why?

So you could tell all the world

You’ve kissed me

Then ditched me

Having to face the world alone?!

OF COURSE I want you,

But…

But…”

”But you can’t commit.”

They went different ways,

But a year later…

”I am ready now!”

She said, and

Her face lit up.

He smiled ravishingly at her.

“It’s 20:00 sharp.”

They hugged.

They kissed.

On the mouth,

This time.

It was intoxicating.
