Twin Peaks: Beyond Life and Death is One of the Best Episodes of the Series
After an odd season 2 of Twin Peaks, I was so glad to see the show go back to the old roots of David Lynch's work. He had directed the final episode of season 2, and it ended with a huge twist that must have pissed off fans for years. This episode goes back to the scary horror elements that David Lynch is known for, and poor Dale Cooper finds himself in a game of life or death.

I finally understand why Twin Peaks season 2 has been a mix for so many fans. I enjoyed this season regardless of its flaws, but I feel it's important to discuss why this season felt so odd. Apparently, there is a whole history to this season, and its pretty shocking how so many directors/writers were involved in the second half of season 2.

"This face is my meal-ticket, honey!" Sylvia Vane There is a certain sinister perfection in each episode of Tales from the Crypt. Based, as it is, on the ghoulish O. Henry twists and plots predicated on well-deserved cosmic justice, as first presented in the infamous Fifties horror comics published by EC (Tales from the Crypt, Haunt of Fear, Vault of Horror, Shock SuspenStories, etc.), the series takes its comic twists and turns quite seriously—until the ghoulish cackling starts to resonate down the hallway of the black-hearted and black-humored viewer with a paean to morbid wit. Or whatever. (It's my job to sound like I know what I'm doing. Much as in this telefilm that follows, I am all surface. Below, who knows what lurks? It's the point of horror.)

The Supernatural Love Story that was Never Resolved
Even though the finale season of Supernatural had its flaws, there was one very powerful moment that I thought was one of the best scenes in the show. During one tense confrontation against Death herself, Dean and his best friend, Castiel, are forced to run away from her as she chases them down. They find themselves at a dead end inside of a room, while Death attempts to break the door down.

Donna from Twin Peaks Has Become the Most Annoying Character on the Show
I loved Donna in the first season, but her character in season 2 is now becoming so irritating to watch. I don't mind her insistence on wanting to know who killed Laura, because Laura was her best friend after all, but the stupid love triangle she is involved in is ruining her character for me.

The Prophecies
It's hard to conceive of a television show quite as good as the near-forgotten and buried late Eighties classic "Friday the Thirteenth: The Series," which starred John D. Le May, the beautiful actress/model Robey (Louise Robey), and Chris Wiggins, as a trio of paranormal sleuths that owned, collectively, an antique store that sold Uncle Vendredi's (E.G. Marshall) demonically cursed items. Even the wonkiest plots had the best scenes, the best death scenes, and delivered a wallop of atmosphere and genuine thrills for the discerning genre viewer.
