Resident Evil Requiem Perfectly Balances Action and Zombie Carnage into Survival Horror

This is the best game in the Resident Evil franchise.

I had some doubt going into the recent entry of the Resident Evil franchise, because of the last two entries of Resident Evil 7 & 8. While the remakes were incredible, and the random stories following a brand-new character did work in Resident Evil 7 and 8, fans like myself were wanting more of an action like experience.

Once I started to hear the crazy claims of Resident Evil Requiem being the best in the franchise, I knew I had to purchase this game. I bought the deluxe version for the hell of it, (because I wanted the Noir outfits, they looked so cool on the two main characters) and I was shocked by how AWESOME this game was.

The blend of both horror and action was done so perfectly, and it almost felt like I was playing two different games mixed into one. This was like Resident Evil 7 mixed with Resident Evil 4 remake, and it created an experience I will NEVER FORGET.

I don't remember the last time I had this much fun with a Resident Evil game in the franchise. The last one that gave me this form of entertainment was Resident Evil 5, and this one is definitely a close call to what I missed in the franchise.

We got our usual cliches of plot armor, fantastic gameplay, new interesting characters, a story that feels so fresh in the franchise, and we also got awesome voice acting in this game!

Seriously, the woman who played one of the main characters, Grace Ashcroft, felt like an actual person that was going through a zombie apocalypse. I felt so sorry for her, and I found myself crying in several scenes with her character. Leon was also so interesting to watch in this game, if this is Leon's last game, it would make a lot of sense to end his journey here.

His story officially feels complete, and this new entry perfectly finishes his story in the franchise. Resident Evil 9 does fit into Resident Evil 2, and I feel that we got a perfect trilogy with his character through the two remakes and the new entry.

I'm planning to write a lot of spoilers in future articles of the characters in the game, so just a quick warning here, because I'm 100% going into spoiler territory next time!

The villain also felt so freaking original too. He was so calm compared to a lot of other villains in the franchise, and he really felt like his own person, instead of the other cliche or weirdos we got as villains.

It was awesome to go back to the old roots of zombie chaos, and I had so much fun battling the dead as I was determined to survive all the ordeals that were thrown my way. None of the gameplay felt annoying, and every single section in the game was honestly pretty damn fun.

There were barely any boss fights too, but the fights were entertaining, and made the experience worthwhile!

I could honestly talk about this game for hours, but it's best if I stop here for now. I'm planning to talk about other plot points and characters in future articles, because there is so much more to this game than meets the eye. We even got some disturbing backstories into what happened to several children, that had become full on zombie monsters. So yeah, this game 100% covers all kinds of horror that you can think of!

Resident Evil Requiem is the best game in years, and I'm so happy I was able to play this masterpiece!
