My Wife of Bath...
For Harper Lewis's 'Dear John' Challenge
Note: if you do not know much about the Wife of Bath, or this Challenge, watch the above video, and look at the link below. I have decided that since this is a letter, I am going to keep it brief.

My Gap-Toothed Love,
Yes, we had some fun, but I think that this has to end. For my part, I loved the time we had together. You were always witty, charming, beautiful, stroking my...ego, and a perfect companion on all our trips and travels (hope that the trip to Canterbury is nice). But I have to be honest with you this one last time...
I'm so tired!
I know that you have had other husbands who were too old to...perform, but I am still a young man. I have plans and dreams and I will never get this poem done if I can barely move out of bed.
So, I have to say goodbye, and all the best with the next one on the line.
You should know that you will be playing a key role in this tale, and that I have made provisions for your welfare (not like you need it, but I take all precautions).
Your still young (former) lover,
G.C.

Hilarious, KD! Loved the video, too! By the by, “I’m so tired,” is also a song from the Mel Brooks movie Blazing Saddles sung by Madeline Kahn while channeling Marlene Dietrich from the German film the Blue Angel. Also fun stuff! Good luck!
“I'm so tired!” might be the most honest breakup line in literature.
What a gentleman! “Tired” but makes sure she gets his money. Such a slick way to get out!
Nothing I love more than a good Canterbury tales reference. I really should give that a reread
LOVE THIS!!!!! I may have to channel her and respond to this one!
