Embarrassment
Pasta Sauce
I’d made this recipe so many times it was practically muscle memory by now. The first time I cooked it was for my husband. He never lied about my cooking—he would just say, “It could use more spice.” That was a common occurrence in our home. When your husband grows up licking hot sauce off his fingers, his spice tolerance climbs to superhuman levels. He was the only one brave enough to order "Thai hot" when ordering Tom Yum Goong-Style soup from Juree's Restaurant.

A Secret. Content Warning.
I still remember that night because nothing dramatic happened at first. That’s the part people never understand about desire. It doesn’t always arrive like thunder. Sometimes it comes quietly. The Life I Might Have Lived
Would my life be better if I didn't drop out of high school? If I didn't take SSRIs and Zyprexa as a teen? If I worked hard to learn and refine my craft (or crafts) from the beginning instead of wasting my time on infatuations, lies, anger, politics, etc?
