Tattoo Tale

If you have tattoos, want tattoos, or have ever considered what you might get tattooed in the event of a lost bet, it's storytime. We want to hear what's behind the ink. If you have a tattoo that's particularly important to you, does it have an interesting meaning or a funny story behind it? Think back to your first tattoo, favorite one, or maybe even worst––we want to hear all the details.

Don't have any ink? Don't let that stop you. Tell us what you're planning to get one day, or maybe about the coolest tattoo you've ever seen, or what embarrassing matching tats you and your high school BFF swore you'd get one day when you were older. You're encouraged to include photos, inspiration art, or anything else possible to help paint your picture.

For your story to be eligible, it must be between 600 and 5,000 words and adhere to our Community Guidelines. Stories published on Vocal and entered into the contest up until September 10, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST will be entered for consideration. Official Rules for the Challenge can be found here.

A complete list of countries where Stripe is available can be found here—winners will need to have a Stripe account created and connected in order to receive the prizes. For this reason, entrants located outside of any of these 35 countries will not be eligible to win.
